Farm Tours
Looking for a fun, family-friendly outing? Book a “farm tour” and visit the alpacas! Whether you are just curious, would like a photo op, or are interested in investing in alpacas yourself and looking for several animals to get you started, we’re happy to offer you that opportunity. We will take you on a guided tour our farm where you can get up close and personal with the alpacas (and our furry farmhands—our very friendly Samoyed pups and our barn cats, Leroy & Luci). We will teach you all about alpacas, including how to care for them, what they produce (fiber and manure), their history, their diet, and their babies, called cria.
We love having visitors, so, if you would like to schedule a time to come out and see us, please give us a call or shoot us an “email” . All visits are by appointment only. We both work full-time still so, we plan visits around our work schedules. That does not mean we cannot accommodate visits during the weekdays, we just must plan for them. Likewise, we do not have set hours of operation.
Please note: We do have a steep walkway down to our barn and to our farm store so, you will get exercise walking on our property. We are pet-friendly people; however, we ask that folks do not bring their pups with them when scheduling a farm visit. Our alpacas know our dogs and they tolerate them, but as a general rule, domestic dogs are a natural predator to alpacas.
We are in Virginia wine country and there are lots of wineries around us to visit after a farm visit if you are interested. We also are within a 45-minute drive of Shenandoah National Park, Luray Caverns and many wonderful hikes. There are several wonderful small towns to explore nearby (Orlean, Flint Hill, Sperryville, Little Washington) for a bite to eat, antiquing or just to enjoy a nice stroll.
